ประทับเวลา Excel: 04/10/2024 09:24:06 Nowadays, there are many criminal cases involving unnatural deaths that require forensic methods to help find the truth. However, existing forensic departments are not sufficient to support autopsy and examine evidence for cases occurring throughout the northeastern region. The Northeastern Institute of Forensic Medicine was proposed for performing complete autopsies and investigations for unnatural deaths. Moreover, the institute can provide information and services for people in the northeastern region and forensic advice for relatives of the deceased. The place can be considered as a learning center for students in related fields. This thesis collected data from field visits and interviews with case studies within the country. Information from public health agencies and industrial product standards were used to determine access pattern of the project. Building function was planned by activity category. Access to different type of area controlled according to priority of building users. Furnitures were arranged in the appropriate position. Moreover, the highlights of the building in the case study were analyzed to find a way to propose a new image of the Forensic Science Institute building that was different from the former design. The architectural details of the Northeastern Institute of Forensic Medicine building are as follows: 1. The nature of the project is an office building and laboratory building regarding forensic medicine and science. The main components are divided into two parts: the autopsy section and the scientific laboratory section, with the total floor area of 5,619 square meters. 2. The project site is a 10,303.60 square meters private sector land located on Mitraphap Road, Nai Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang Khon Kaen District. Khon Kaen Province where close to Ratchaphruek Hospital, Bangkok Hospital Khon Kaen and Evidence Center 4. It is convenient for public access and corpses transportation in order to reduce the delivery time that affects the integrity of the evidence. 3. The project concept is “the death is the truth of life”. The design aims to change the perspective of most building users who have a bias towards death as depressing to become a positive for attitude towards helping unnatural deceased to receive justice in the form of "truth" proving. It will be considered that the unnatural death has returned to normal. 4. The Institute of Forensic Medicine building is a two floors operation building. The first floor has a separate area for the coroner. The people who come for each area of services are separated by open green areas. The second floor is a full laboratory space. There is a witness room for distributing witnesses to various departments. A large multi-purpose area in front of the building is provided for staffs in the Forensic Science Institute to organize joint activities. The system rooms are used to divide staff parking area from the public. There are many factors to consider for designing buildings for forensic medical work. Some factors are quite specific and sensitive, such as data access security, which requires specific areas and strict security systems to limit access. The needs of sterile cleanliness make the autopsy room design similar to an operating room. Control of chemicals in the air affects building material selection, building structure and planning. The use of light and color can not only heal users according to psychological principles but also create awareness and a good perspective among building users towards the activities being carried out.
